Georges Buffet
|
"geology and landscape sketching"
a geologist by profession and artist by nature.
Georges organizes and gives lectures on the Arts and Artists, some of which will be presented during the course.
A basic knowledge of the underlying structure and formation of the mountains gives more perspective and depth to your Alpine landscapes.
An awareness of geomorphology is an unbelievable support for creative expression.

Lisa Micah
|
Abstraction from nature, two dimensional, free expression.
Lisa has been painting and running courses for over 15 years. She has a style of her own which is inspired by the human form, nature, sound and colour.
Here the emphasis is on free expression inspired by objects/artefacts found in the surrounding countryside, sketched/analysed and transformed into... images on canvas, paper...
One does not need a draughtsman's skills to attend this three-day course.
Just the desire to express oneself on a flat surface...

First course: 2pm Saturday 7th to 6pm Tuesday 10th July
with Georges : this course is devoted to landscape sketching and painting (both in and outdoor), with at least one excursion up into the mountains ( the main part of which is by chair lift giving you a bird's eye view of the lie of the land). The top site shows what were undersea lava flows now outcropping on the mount Chenaillet (2650 m)
Another excursion will be proposed in the Vallée de la Clarée with its authentic Alpine architecture
Second course: 9am Wednesday 11th to 11.30am Saturday 14th July
Lisa Micah takes you into an adventure of free expression. Work is based on an object found on the first morning's wanderings. Using all one's senses to create drawings and/or paintings, and not least to give you ideas you can further develop in your own studio. The aim is self expression founded on sensitivity colour and form.
Note:
For both courses basic materials are provided and you are more than welcome to make full use of them. Though if you have your own materials you can bring them along too. The courses are run in a friendly family atmosphere and participants are free to explore the surrounding villages and countryside.
